Capped at project level based on access:

• Essential - 500k Tweets per month
• Elevated - 2M tweets per month
  • Can easily be obtained
• Elevated+ - doesn’t exist yet
• Academic Research - 10M tweets per month. Can only be obtained for non-commercial use. Need to apply.

Endpoint Rate Limits

You can make X requests to Y endpoint over a Z time window.

OAuth 1.0a User Context

One limit per time window for each set of users’ access tokens

Example:

• 900 requests to /statuses/user_timeline over a 15 min time window per user

OAuth 2.0 Bearer Token

One limit per time window for your developer app. Separate from the limit for OAuth 1.0a
